NOT AGAIN!!!!

Remember I posted about my sprained ankle a few times within the last two years or so?  I fell down and went boom..bout three or four times...cause I'm such a klutz......(i don't drink, so that's not it).    Anyhoo.....last Friday the contractor finished installing a side door on my house and called me out to look at it.  I have a little side stoop with three steps going off to the right.   I stepped outside and squeezed around him to view the door and next thing I know i'm tilting over, head first down the steps!  Yeah yeah....funny huh?   (actually it was, now that I think about it).   If he just hadn't cut up the cardboard box and placed it at the bottom of the stairway, my head would have been cracked open, I'm sure of it......but the cardboard cushioned the fall and there I was, lying upside down on the steps!   I did a number on my ankle (again).....damn.....and my head hurt a lil...but it seems to be ok now....unless of course I don't know it's not ok and this all sounds like gibberish and i really think i'm typing a post....Am I? ??

A Quickie

Snotdog and I are alive and well and have been renovating the house. It's been keeping me real busy..... but I'm taking a break from it until after the holidays. I'm happy with the way it's turning out! In the meantime.......

AMAZINGLY YET SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES

1. IF YOU'RE CHOKING ON AN ICE CUBE, SIMPLY POUR A CUP OF BOILING WATER
DOWN YOUR THROAT. PRESTO! THE BLOCKAGE WILL INSTANTLY REMOVE ITSELF.
2. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE
ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.
3. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT - USE
THE SINK.
4. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR
A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO USE
A TIMER.
5. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM
ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.
6. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN YOU'LL
BE AFRAID TO COUGH.
7. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T
MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE
DUCT TAPE.
8. REMEMBER - EVERYONE SEEMS NORMAL UNTIL YOU GET TO KNOW THEM.
9. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
DAILY THOUGHT: SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES - NOT REALLY GOOD FOR
ANYTHING, BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE
STAIRS.

Life

I thought this was great!
Written by Regina Brett of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, OH : To celebrate growing older, she wrote the 45 lessons life taught her. It is the most-requested column she's ever written. Her odometer rolled over to 70 in August, so here goes:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to 'others.' You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful, or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood, but the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take "no" for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative of dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Hello......

I'm moving ahead.   I've missed you.   I've got a lot done since I last saw you.   Still, there's so much more to do.  Life goes on.   I wanted it to stop and wait for me, but noooo, it didn't.  I'm playing catch up, but at my own pace.  It keeps me sane.  Yes I'm not going crazy!   I have all the time in the world, yet I only have this moment.   So I wanted to stop in and say hello and thanks for all your thoughtful comments over the weeks since I've been gone.  Maybe I'll see you soon.

I've made a decision to stop blogging for now. It's been a great ride. I've made some great friends and enjoyed it now for the past three years. I'll be back to visit all of you and comment when I can. You can email me if you'd like. I'll be sure to get back to you.

Ruby Tuesday

The Teach sponsors Ruby Tuesday.  If you want to participate just post a picture(it has to be one of your own) that has red in it.

I saw this car in the lot of the bank I went to the other day and wish I had my regular camera with me.  I shot this with my phone camera.  I was waiting to speak to the owner to see what kind of car this was or even what year.  I just thought it was so cool.  The owner didn't appear and I couldn't wait, so I just took the shot.    Happy Ruby Tuesday!!!!

Backkkkkkkkkkkk.

Actually I didn't go fishing.......but I did go.   Not to Tahiti :-( .  Just to the shore.  Hung out near the ocean and the sand with my umbrella and baseball cap in tow.   I love being around water.  I also love swimming in the ocean.  I've done that all my life.   But this week the undertow was so rough, I wouldn't even venture in.   Five people in the area drowned last weekend because of it.  I just took my lil beach chair to the edge of the water and let the water wash up on my feet.  Read my book, took deep breaths, all is well with world.  Almost.   I got body slammed onto the sand! Not once, twice!  I was just sitting there minding my own business positioning my beach chair in the sand with my butt...ya know wiggling down and anchoring it.....when I leaned back and the chair went too....with me in it!!!  Bam.  I've fallen and I can't get up!  Everyone I was with thought this was pretty amusing and they were laughing so hard no one came to give me a hand........was pretty funny.  I felt like an ass but hey, I'm happy to provide the entertainment.  Fast forward to after lunch.  We went and got a bar pie......came back and I sat down in the my chair and proceeded to put the umbrella back up. Lo and behold, a wind comes out of nowhere, swoops the umbrella and spins me around and plop, there I go again, over in my chair.......One of my friends yelled to her daughter to get the video going..........OMG if they ever got that on film I would have won America's Funniest Video!

Well, it looks like I've got a lot of catching up to do.  I see some memes to be done and awards to be posted and passed on........Hope your weekend is going great!

Sunday Smile

Stunning Senior Moment

A self-important college freshman attending a recent football game took it
upon himself to explain to a senior citizen sitting next to him why it was
impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.

'You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one', the
student said, loud enough for many of those nearby to hear. 'The young
people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man
walking on the moon. Our space probes have visited Mars. We have nuclear
energy, ships and electric and hydrogen cars, cell phones , computers with
light-speed processing.. .and more.'

After a brief silence, the senior citizen responded as follows:

'You're right, son. We didn't have those things when we were young....... .so
we invented them. Now, you arrogant little shit, what are you doing for the
next generation?'

The applause was amazing..... ..

Cockles and mussels, alive alive o.........(dead, really)

Photo from S.I. Advance
This is the reason I didn't go walking (or anything else) on the beach yesterday.   Tens of thousands of mussels washed up on the beach over the weekend.  They say it stunk...I didn't get too near there so I don't know how bad it was.  But they were baking right there on the beach in 90 degree weather without the aid of a cook or slow boiling pots so I'm sure the smell was ripe!  Not only were there mussels, but there were flies and gnats and mosquitos (oh my), as a result.
The news claims it was a result  of hot weather and undercurrents (from Hurricane Bertha)

Happy Monkey Monday!

Happy Monkey Monday!

Do you notice what's missing?   No doodle today. Does that make you happy?  Well, I'll get to doing more in case you miss em.  Hehe.

I spent most of the weekend in my friend's pool.   Was oppressively hot here, as I'm sure it has been everywhere.  The great part of this ...is........I don't have to get dressed for work and trudge into the city and sweat myself to death during the commute!  :-)

I haven't been reading many blogs of late so I apologize if I haven't been to see you lately.  I'm just not on the computer much as of late.  But I'll be visiting soon.   So in the meantime, I wish you cool breezes, A/C and laughter!

Nude Runner

A woman was having a daytime affair while her husband was at work. One
rainy day she was in bed with her boyfriend when, to her horror, she heard her
husband's car pull into the driveway.
"Oh my God - Hurry! Grab your clothes and jump out the window. My
husband's home early!"
"I can't jump out the window. It's raining out there!"
"If my husband catches us in here, he'll kill us both!" she replied.
He's got a hot temper and a gun, so the rain is the least of your
problems!"
So the boyfriend scoots out of bed, grabs his clothes and jumps out the
window!
As he ran down the street in the pouring rain, he quickly discovered he
had
run right into the middle of the town's annual marathon, so he started
running along beside the others, about 300 of them.
Being naked, with his clothes tucked under his arm, he tried to blend in
as
best he could. After a little while a small group of runners who had been
watching him with some curiosity, jogged closer.

"Do you always run in the nude?" one asked.
"Oh yes!" he replied, gasping in air. "It feels so wonderfully free!"

Another runner moved a long side. "Do you always run carrying your clothes
with you under your arm?"
Oh, yes" our friend answered breathlessly. "That way I can get dressed right
at the end of the run and get in my car to go home!

Then a third runner cast his eyes a little lower and asked, "Do you always
wear a condom when you run?"

"Nope........just when it's raining."
