My bags are packed, I'm ready to go, ......lalalalalala.....(not really :-( but I do have hope that someday I will make it to Tahiti. My Twinhead gave me all the essentials. That's all I'll probably need there too! ;-) (Oh and a cabana boy!!!) I thought he was hiding in the little flap inside that bag, but lo and behold, I couldn't find him!! Does anyone know where he went????

Tuesday.

Well, I decided that I'm not really going to retire, I called my office and asked if I could pull my papers and come back.........................

APRIL FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-) AHAHAHAHAHA.

It's finally getting a little warm around here, but still raining.....omg, I'm talking about the weather!!!!! I sound like an retiree!!! Stop me!

I ordered tickets to see to Jimmy Buffet at Madison Square Garden in June. His songs put me in the mood for Tahiti. Twinhead gave me a beach bag, pillow, beach throw, a straw mat to lay on and other little tiny bags that fit into the beach bag, and a Travel Book on Tahiti! I took pictures, they will be forth coming....

My mood has been pretty steady lately which is a good thing, I suppose. Mom is doing a little better but I'm still a lil afraid.

Well, that's all I have to say today. I've got things to do and places to go!!!

Happy Monkey Funday....

Oh my goodness, I'm sooo excited! Do you know what a great feeling it is not to have to get up at some ungodly hour and travel and hour and a half to get to the office??? Well, it's great, on the one hand.
On the other hand, it's a little bittersweet, because hub's not here to share this with me and the plans we were making will never come true. But I know it'll all be ok. He's here with me in spirit and I draw strength from what we shared together. I want to always remember the smiles he gave me and keep them with me now. I'm still taking things a bit slowly but I'm getting there.
You see, that's how it is now...I get really happy about something then I think, oh wow, he's not here with me to share this. What now? That's when I remember the funny things he'd say and it helps me get through it. I'm still sad, but better.

So getting back to Monkey Mondays....Mondays are now officially "Fundays" (to quote a good friend ;-) .....so...Happy Monkey Funday y'all.

I want to thank all of you for joining in my celebration yesterday of the start of my new beginning! So this is the first post in my retirement mode. It's a good feeling. I'm going to just hang out today. There's no pressure to "get things done". I'll have lots of time to do that now. I'll do my errands and food shopping during the week now. I won't have to fight with everyone else trying to get it done on the weekends. And I'll also try to get back to reading everyone again. Hugs to all!

The Day Before I Retire.

Well, I didn't have a post planned for today, so I suppose some randomness is due...(can you plan randomness?). I don't think so. It's raining here today. Is that a good sign that it's raining the day before I retire? I believe there's some folklore(or an old Chinese saying) that states: May the drops of rain fall down on you and frizz your hair. I never heard that one. Did you? OH well, I guess I'll continue to learn things even as I approach this day, the day before I officially retire. So how do I feel you may ask? Absolutely wonderful.......I'm not even going to look back. I will go back tho on April 11th for my party! Hint. NYC. Invited. All. Yippie. Yahoo. Doing the "I won't have to work anymore after tomorrow dance"!!!!!!

Yellowstone Park

I just recently bought a scanner, copier, fax, printer...from Costco. A Canon. Ok there's a plug for Canon (and Costco). (I need printer paper, ok?) I finally hooked it up and I'm very happy with it. Everything actually works and I only had to call their help line once.

Now ya see that picture? Hub took it at Yellowstone Park. It's my first "scanned" picture! I'm going to try and scan all 300 plus into the puter. We have some awesome photos from all over the country. I'm planning on posting a few every week. It'll bring back happy memories for me while sharing them with you.

Happy Easter everyone! And if you don't celebrate Easter, then Happy Spring!
Holidays are rather hard for me without hub....they say that'll happen so I just prepare myself to be feeling down this weekend....but I will be going to my friend's house for Easter dinner...and I'll be with Mom all day today. She's out of the hospital...but she hasn't really perked up yet. We're watching and waiting. So please keep her in your prayers. In the meantime...keep on laughing....

Some Stuff

Sunshiny day here. So I took another day off. I have 7 more working days to go!!!! I do have to admit that as much as I'm looking forward to retirement, it's still a little scary. The "routine" has been with me for so long. But I'm guessing that feeling will leave rather quickly once I get into another "routine". And I sure have lots of routines planned. Lemme see....gotta get to Tahiti one day....renovate the house, one little area at a time......visit friends who have moved away.....it'd be fun to take a blogging tour across the country and meet y'all.........I have to get to Yellowstone Park someday to spread some of hub's ashes (that was his all time favorite place)......go to the beach every day.......gym. One thing I'm not going to be doing is finding another job. I'd love to do some volunteer work and give back some of what the world has given me. I'll continue with my grief therapy. It's what I need most right now. So.....if anyone is going to be in NYC on April 11, let me know....that's the day of my retirement luncheon and you're all invited!!!
