Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!

Backkkkkkkkkkkk.

Actually I didn't go fishing.......but I did go.   Not to Tahiti :-( .  Just to the shore.  Hung out near the ocean and the sand with my umbrella and baseball cap in tow.   I love being around water.  I also love swimming in the ocean.  I've done that all my life.   But this week the undertow was so rough, I wouldn't even venture in.   Five people in the area drowned last weekend because of it.  I just took my lil beach chair to the edge of the water and let the water wash up on my feet.  Read my book, took deep breaths, all is well with world.  Almost.   I got body slammed onto the sand! Not once, twice!  I was just sitting there minding my own business positioning my beach chair in the sand with my butt...ya know wiggling down and anchoring it.....when I leaned back and the chair went too....with me in it!!!  Bam.  I've fallen and I can't get up!  Everyone I was with thought this was pretty amusing and they were laughing so hard no one came to give me a hand........was pretty funny.  I felt like an ass but hey, I'm happy to provide the entertainment.  Fast forward to after lunch.  We went and got a bar pie......came back and I sat down in the my chair and proceeded to put the umbrella back up. Lo and behold, a wind comes out of nowhere, swoops the umbrella and spins me around and plop, there I go again, over in my chair.......One of my friends yelled to her daughter to get the video going..........OMG if they ever got that on film I would have won America's Funniest Video!

Well, it looks like I've got a lot of catching up to do.  I see some memes to be done and awards to be posted and passed on........Hope your weekend is going great!
Peace

Oh embarrasing, but it's good you could laugh at yourself.

So glad you enjoyed your time by the ocean. We have just returned from two weeks in Greece so I have a lot of catching up to do too. :)

Glad you're back! I don't do the sore much, but vacationing in Brigantine when a kid does bring back great beach memories.

Gravity can be your friend. Sometimes, but not for you. But your chair mishap is but two minor oddities in a great beach week.

So glad you're back and that you visited the ocean, which I love so much, too.

What's a bar pie?

Great post, glad you could laugh about the chair incidents! Hope your bar pie (whatever that may be) didn't get sand in it!

From the account I would say that you had a "sand bar" pie.

Thanks for the welcome back...and a "bar pie" is just a pizza, usually thin crusted and served at the bar.
Peace

My mom grew up in New York and always warned us about riptides, even at the lake. I think it left a mark on her....

That would have been a great video. But other than that little mishap, sounds like a lovely little break.

We had a similar rough tide experience. Poor Brae couldn't get in the ocean at all during our trip to the Fenwick beach. =o/

I do hope you had a joyous and relaxing time. =o)

Forget the rip current, you need to watch out for beach chairs!! LOL!!
