Mouse Balls

I will never look at my mouse the same again...... poor lil guy....

IBM Mouse Balls..."Memo of the Month"

This is an actual alert to IBM Field Engineers that went out to all IBM Branch Offices. The person who wrote it was very serious. The rest of us find it rather funny.

Abstract: Mouse Balls Available as FRU (Field Replacement Unit)

Mouse balls are now available at FRU. Therefore, if a mouse fails to operate or should it perform erratically, it may need a ball replacement. Because of the delicate nature of this procedure, replacement of mouse balls should only be attempted by properly trained personnel.
Before proceeding, determine the type of mouse balls by examining the underside of the mouse. Domestic balls will be larger and harder than foreign balls. Ball removal procedures differ depending upon manufacturer of the mouse. Foreign balls can be replaced using the pop-off method. Domestic balls are replaced using the twist-off method. Mouse balls are not usually static sensitive. However, excessive handling can result in sudden discharge. Upon completion of ball replacement, the mouse may be used immediately.
It is recommended that each replacer have a pair of spare balls for maintaining optimum customer satisfaction, and that any customer missing his balls should suspect local personnel of removing these necessary items.

Happy Monkey Monday

Yes, it's Monday again!! Hope your weekend was wonderful! Mine was filled with unexpected happenings.....My lil Snot dog got sick. He has "almost pnumonia". I came home on Friday and he was just standing there looking at me as if saying "help meeee" . He could hardly breath. I was beside myself. I couldn't get him to a vet then, so I gave him some benedryl which helped him somewhat. Got him to the vet Saturday morning and he's got some fluid in his one lung. Got lots of meds for him and they seem to be helping....He's a lot better than he was. I came home and as I was getting ready to go away for the weekend...I picked up one of my bags and my back spasmed. Damn!!! Had to sit down, put some heat on it for a while...took three Motrin......and went on my way. In spite of the bad start I had a great weekend!

Peace

PS I want to thank all those who voted for my blog nominations listed over there to the right in the side bar.
And I'm still waiting for those who promised their votes to vote....(I can see who voted ya know... ;-)

Bye Bye My Friend

Have you ever met a person and felt instantly comfortable with them? Even though you know they'd only be in your life for a brief period of time? Someone you just knew in your heart was one of the nicest, kindest and sweetest people you've met in a long time. I did. I just wanted to express that thought today...because it's true and I think that by writing it down and publicly expressing this makes it seem more real somehow. And it is, real.

I want to wish this person all the luck in their new adventure and wish for them nothing but happiness and laughter which they provided me for a brief period of time.

Thank you, be well, stay in touch!
Peace

Interview Meme

Here's the answers to the five questions Meme that I dared Deb of the Famous, Fabulous Boondoggled Page to give me. She made up the questions, I answered...If you're interested in participating in this interview meme (or thingy, if you don't like the word meme, as I know some of you don't), follow the directions below...and I'll make up some really cool questions for you too!!!! ;-)

1. What is your most romantic moment?

Making love on a hot day, in a hot tub located on the deck of my house that overlooks the ocean, smelling like coconut sun lotion, then taking a swim in the ocean, followed up by feeding each other sweet, cold juicy fruit...then giving each other massages while licking the juices of the fruits off our bodies.
(TMI? Well she asked!!!)

2. Can you see yourself still blogging 10 years from now?

I hope not!!! Well I don't mean that in a bad way. I just mean there'll probably be other things to become addicted to. And besides, who knows if such an instrument will still be around...It'll probably be all video by then and I doubt that I'd want my face or my body being televised to the world! Hopefully I'll be in retirement world... (on a beach, in a hot tub.......well you get my drift).

3. If you could go anywhere in the world for an hour, where would it be?

Tahiti, in a hot tub, on a beach........yada, yada, yada.

4. Is karma going to get ya?
Well, not instantly, but I think:
we will all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
On and on and on on and on

5. When you leave a bathroom do you always turn out the light?

Yes, always. Doesn't everyone?

Peace

There Are No Words, But Here's Mine Anyway

I had to let some time go by to let this sink in because I have a tendency not to believe what's right in front of my eyes. I just want to say that my heart goes out to all those affected by the Virginia Tech tradgedy. I know what it feels like to face an event of such proportions, having gone through 9/11. This is an event that will stay with them for the rest of their lives and I hope and pray that they can get through it with as little scarring as possible. I hope they learn to use their grief to better their lives and thoughts and not to use it negatively, lest it wear them down. I hope they learn to appreciate life more and keep those who died spirits alive in their hearts and not sweep them under the rug and forget them. My wish is that they keep these spirits out in the sun and allow them to them shine through their own eyes and spirits.

I hope they eventually let their grief out too, no matter what it takes. Talk, rant, cry, get angry until the softness in their hearts come back. When it does, they won't be the same. They'll be different but better, having endured something on such a gut wrenching level. Let it take its course, no matter how long it takes and get all the help that is available. I did. I had to.

Happy Monkey Monday Y'all

Hey...Happy Monkey Monday.....

Have yourself a banana and swing from the nearest tree!
I love bananas myself. I have one everyday. My mom used to cut them up and pour evaporated milk and sugar over them...yummo!!! I have a banana hammock where I keep my bananas. It's netting hanging between two palm trees. I keep it on the counter. The bananas like it there...it's so relaxing. Sometimes when the sun shines through the window, I think they actually put sunblock on cause when I peel them I feel it and sometimes I even smell coconut. Ok..so maybe i've been in the sun too long this weekend! I've gone bananas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh nooooooooooo.

stay in the moment/hope springs eternal

I have got to get back to my meditating....deep breaths...staying in the moment type of life.

I'm really good at saying: Yes, I know, stay in the moment...don't fret about the future....if I can't do anything about it now now, why worry. I know all these things to be true....been there, done that over and over. I have it in my experience. So why is it so damn difficult to draw on when you really need to. Well I need to, now! I have to have some medical tests done over the next two weeks and I'm scarred.

"What seems to be a great loss or punishment often turns out to be a blessing. I know, through my own experience, that God never closes one door without opening another." -Yolande D. Herron

"The best way out is always through." -Robert Frost

I'm going through something at the moment that I know will be ok, no matter what the outcome will be. I just know it. And instead of being in the state of panic that slips into my mind in the middle of the night I'll be laughing about it soon, as I usually do.....because my sense of humor has always sustained me....no matter what.

Saturday Sillies

Deep Thoughts About Pigs and Sheep (I just know you were wondering)

Do you think sheep know when you're pulling the wool over their eyes?
Does the person who inventories sheep often fall asleep on the job?
If a pig is sold to the pawn shop is it then called a ham-hock?
If we make sweaters out of a sheep's hair, what do the sheep use to make sweaters?
If you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear what can you make with it?
If you pushed a pig down a hill would he be a sausage roll?
What do pigs say when they don't want to do something? Would it be 'Yea when humans fly'?
What do sheep count when they can't get to sleep?
Why can't pigs look up into the sky?
Why do pigs have curly tails?
Why do we call them guinea pigs when they are neither from Guinea nor are they pigs?
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?
Why is it that only pigs and humans can get sunburn?
Why is it that the first thing we try to do after killing a pig is to cure it?
Would a small pig be called a hamlet?

VERY SHORT STORY

Man driving down road.

Woman driving on same road in opposite direction.

They pass each other.

Woman yells out window at man, "PIG!"

Man yells out window back at woman, "BITCH!!"

Man rounds next curve.

Man crashes into HUGE PIG in middle of road and dies.

Pop Up Throughts

Holidays do something to me. They tug at my heart strings and bring memories of good times flooding back. When we were all together and they were all alive.

I used to dread holidays sometimes because of the fights my brother and I would always have....the looks of judgement from my mother-in-law, the resentments I held because I thought Mom always took my brother's side.....

and then......there were my neice and nephew, the first children of the family....cute and cuter....the two who thawed the ice! The innocence of them brought laughter and play back into our lives just when we needed it the most. Isn't if funny how things work out? How people change and mellow as they grow. Some lessons learned over time, some not.
(ok, so I couldn't make a decision what picture to use on this post, so what if I used all of them? ;-)

WTF!

Sleepy eyed and hair like Bozo the Clown, I slip out of my bed and take the dog for a walk. Doing it with pleasure and a little haste because I know I can come back and jump into bed again! I had a late meeting yesterday which allowed me to sleep in. Sleeping in to me is 7AM! What a nice feeling to crawl back under the covers, ahhh, and put my head down to dream a little while longer. Wait a second, what the eff is that?????????? Jackhammers???????????? At 6AM????????????? Come on!!!!!!!!

So my mood waivered between "oh so happy" to "homicidal maniac", just like that!

By the way, did I ever tell you I love vanilla ice cream? and I'm growing my hair to look just like that female detective in CSI NY? and oh my allergies are really bothering me? I didn't think so.
Serenity now!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, I'm better now.

So Long Folks :-(

Well folks, I knew it was going to come to this some day. I just didn't realize how soon. I'll be shutting down my blog in order to move to Tahiti...Yes, that's right, Tahiti!! I've been given a job offer that I cannot refuse. I can't say just what it is yet because I've been swown to secrecy. But I can tell you that along with the job comes a house on the beach, which opens right to the ocean. I"ll be practically feeling the mist of the ocean as I sit on the back deck drinking my coffee in the morning...made by my "house boy" (his name is Marcos and is part of the offer), whose duties will include feeding me grapes, after peeling them of course, fanning me during the hottest hours of the day, rubbing sun tan lotion on my body, (and "other duties").

I'm going to miss you guys! ;-)

Peace

(Ok so it's not true, APRIL FOOLS!!! but doesn't it sound great??)
