Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!

Why, Why,Why

  • Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are going dead?

  • Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there is not enough money?

  • Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?

  • Why doesn't glue stick to the bottle?

  • Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection?

  • Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

  • Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?

  • Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

  • Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"?

  • If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

  • Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

  • Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

  • Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

  • Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

  • Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

  • How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

  • When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with ashopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's allright?" Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, "That hurt, you stupid idiot?"

  • Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

  • In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

  • How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

  • And my FAVORITE......The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three bestfriends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

Warning, In Case this Happens to you!!!!

A man was walking home alone late one foggy night, when behind him he hears:

BUMP...

BUMP...

BUMP...

Walking faster, he looks back and through the fog he makes out the image of an upright casket banging its way down the middle of the street toward him.

BUMP...

BUMP...

BUMP...

Terrified, the man begins to run toward his home, the casket bouncing quickly behind him

FASTER...

FASTER...

BUMP...

BUMP...

BUMP...

He runs up to his door, fumbles with his keys, opens the door, rushes in, slams and locks the door behind him. However, the casket crashes through his door, with the lid of the casket clapping

clappity-BUMP...

clappity-BUMP...

clappity-BUMP...

on his heels, the terrified man runs.Rushing upstairs to the bathroom, the man locks himself in. His heart is pounding; his head is reeling; his breath is coming in sobbing gasps.

With a loud CRASH the casket breaks down the door.

Bumping and clapping toward him.

The man screams and reaches for something, anything, but all he can find is a bottle of cough syrup!

Desperate, he throws the cough syrup at the casket...

and,

(hopefully you're ready for this!!!)

The coffin stops!

Eve ....

Arrrggghhhh, it's Monday.....It's ok tho...I'm feeling much better today. It's also going to be the Eve of Hollow tonight. I'm not looking forward to ducking the kids throwing eggs and stuff, altho the stores are not supposed to sell eggs unless one has ID to prove you're over eighteen. (I sure hope they ask me for mine, he he). I remember when we were kids. I used to love to get dressed in my dirtiest oldest clothes and go out on what we called "Hell Night" and cause, yup, hell!!! We didn't throw eggs although I got belted with enough of them. What we would do is fill socks up with flour and hit anyone who came our way. By the time we got home we all looked like we were ready to be baked, covered with flour and eggs. Ahh, the good old days....(OMG, I sound like my mother....shoot me now please).

Time and Storm

I hope you remembered to turn your clocks back last night. It was nice to walk the dog this morning in the light. The bad part will come Monday when I'll be driving home in the dark. That's so depressing.
We had such a bad wind storm here this weekend. Still going on too...I was afraid I was going to get hit by a tree or taken to OZ it was blowing so hard. Well I'm going to continue to stay holed up here and head back to work tomorrow. Have an easy Sunday!

Odatette's Family Reunion

Bugs and pugs

Well, I usually let you know how happy I am because it's Saturday and I get to sleep in a little. But since I've been home sick I've been sleeping a lot! I'm feeling a lot better today but the weather outside is frightful! (omg a song!!!) Winds 60mph, rainy and cold. So it looks like I'm going to be stuck inside anyway, which I suppose is better until I'm rid of this damn bug.

Speaking of bugs, my dog, (the bugeyed pug) is such a wuss in the rain. He won't go out!! I try to drag him (not in a mean way, but in a way that says "This will be good for you" way). He tries running back in, shaking his lil heinie as he does. Geeze. Then when he gets inside he demands to be toweled off! I keep telling him, how do you expect to meet a pug of your dreams if you keep acting like a lil pug wuss? He just looks at me and goes into his lil bed and starts snoring.

Well that's all the inspiration I have today...Hope the sun is shining where you are.

Happy Friday

I have no rants or raves or jokes or anything to speak of today...I stayed home from work yesterday and today after battling some bug I've had all week. I fought the bug and the bug won. And it's not like a good bug. It's one of those that kicked my ass. I'm home and I'm miserable. It's not like a sorta, kinda sick day, where I can get things done or go shopping or something...I've actually been in bed, taking medicine, eating soup, drinking juice, taking vitamins....ugh! But ya know when one is a blogaholic one has to read everyone's blogs and comment and of course post something, even if it's my story of woe and sickness and drinking soup and all that. ;-) But I did manage to find some funny pictures, so enjoy.
Peace

HDF!!!!!

Happy Dance Friday is here again...although I'm dancing a little slowly today, it's ok, I'm still doing the happy dance and I suggest you do the same. Not slow, but just dance however ya wanna.

Oatmeal Soup

Have you ever heard of oatmeal soup? It's apparently a new thing here in NYC.
Went out to lunch yesterday to get some soup...(cause that's what one eats when one is sick). The deli s here have the soups in big black kettles right in the aisle so you can just grab an insulated bowl thingy with a top and serve yourself. There's tags on all of them indicating what type of soup is in each of them. So there I was...reading the labels...chicken noodle, chicken rice, chicken chile, vegetable beef, pea, plain vegetable, and "oatmeal". Ok, remember now I'm feeling really lousy, so I'm not thinking in my usual effervescient frame of mind here, and I say to my co-worker, I NEVER HEARD OF OATMEAL SOUP!!!!!! She just gave me one of those looks, that said...OOOOKKKKKKKKK! (it was really oatmeal, not soup.)

Peace

Flowers for you!

My Weird

Thanks to Lizza, over at "I Am Woman, See Me Blog" I have been tagged to list nine (9) weird things about myself. Although I can think of many more than nine, I dare not publish them in a public forum ;-) . But I will share some less private ones with you. Ready?

  1. I have to sleep with a pillow under my feet.
  2. I take my pillow with me when I travel.
  3. I can't eat a sandwich or a hamburger without a pickle.
  4. I hate salmon.
  5. I have to have certain music on to do certain things..e.g. when I'm cleaning the house, I have to have fast music; when driving home from work, I need soothing music; when I'm working I listen to classical or new age music. When it's quiet, I get nervous.
  6. I'm always early for everything...(it annoys me too!).
  7. I only get pedicures, never manicures.
  8. Although my desk at work is amass with papers, I have to stack them in neat lil stacks before I leave.
  9. I put Vick's vapor rub on my nose every night.

I'm tagging the following 9 if they chose to do it:

michael c; Boondoggled; Lastonehere; LaughMoreLoveMove; Studio Twenty-Three; c-writing; The Thinker; The Laughorist; Mist1.

LuLu the Lizard continued from 10/20/06 post

(Continued from 10/20/06 post)

Ok, ok...LuLu's not dead and that wasn't really "the end", read on:

From that day forward, he became known as the snake with a hat in it's stomach. SWAHIIS, the snake. That's because the hat was never digested nor regurgatated (as snakes sometimes do). So Swahiis had a shape that looked rather funny now. He was long in the front, and long in the back, but rounded like a dome in the middle.

Meanwhile, back on the desert, LuLu was. (regurgitated that is!) A little shaken at first, but oh so happy again! At first she didn't realize what had happened. She knew that it got really really dark, and she felt as if she was being crushed. However, because her hat was so big it caused an air pocket in the snakes's passageway and she managed to walk right out of his unhinged mouth.
(to be continued).

Happy now?
