Pop Up Throughts

Holidays do something to me. They tug at my heart strings and bring memories of good times flooding back. When we were all together and they were all alive.

I used to dread holidays sometimes because of the fights my brother and I would always have....the looks of judgement from my mother-in-law, the resentments I held because I thought Mom always took my brother's side.....

and then......there were my neice and nephew, the first children of the family....cute and cuter....the two who thawed the ice! The innocence of them brought laughter and play back into our lives just when we needed it the most. Isn't if funny how things work out? How people change and mellow as they grow. Some lessons learned over time, some not.
(ok, so I couldn't make a decision what picture to use on this post, so what if I used all of them? ;-)
Peace
Five Things I'm Grateful for today:
1) Ability to forgive
2) Memories
3) Lessons learned
4) Smiles on children...heck, smiles on everyone.
5) Chocolate easter bunnies

I'm grateful for chocolate bunnies too! I especially love the ears.

I dread family get togethers with my husbands family.

I was just in Brooklyn for Easter and celebrated w/ my slightly-older cousins. Three babies in the house. Wow.

Anyway, I like that idea: pop up thoughts.

The way I viewed holidays changed forever when I developed a bad case of children.

numbers 1 and 2 are HUGE. And in neither case do we ever stop learning to be better or more appreciative of them.
