Happy Monkey Tuesday

This is Snotdog's favorite toy.  I actually bought it for hub ;-( but Snot took it over.  Actually he's afraid of it and snorts his lil smushed in face off when I play it for him.

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend.

Instead of taking my usual trek to the beach I went in the opposite direction and travelled into NYC with some friends.  It was a gorgeous sunny day, a cool breeze blowing, as we packed into my friend's convertible and drove thru the tunnel into the city.

We had lunch in Little Italy, dessert in Chinatown, coffee in the East Village, then uptown to Central Park.  We stopped at the Plaza and peed.  (yes I said that), then to Mickey Mantle's for some drinks and appetizers.

Since it was Fleet Week here in the city (war ships and battle ships and aircraft carriers sailing into New York Harbor for a parade of ships), there were loads of sailers and uniformed soldiers about town.  I thanked every one of them for their service!

Peace

Peace

At first I thought that was someone holding a rubber chicken!

Sounds like a fun (and yummy) trip.

We have a large stuffed raccoon that grunts when squeezed, and our fearless 80lb. Airedale is terrified of it!
It would be pretty cool to see all those warships! Any pictures?

I love the toy. How cute, and I can see why you bought it for hubby.

I'm glad you had a great weekend. Fleet week in the San Francisco bay is in October. Hopefully we will have our boat there this year.

Big hug and lotsa lovies Odat. :)

I love the toy! Rose had a gorilla like that. She barked at it then tore it up - the only toy she's done that with.

So you didn't take a sailor home? You have such restraint! ;)

Not meaning to sound rude or crass, but when you thanked them for their service, was that for "service" or for their military service? If it was for "service" was that for all of them? Dang!!!!

And you did them all on one holiday weekend???? WOW.

I would be sore.

Later Y'all.

Oh yeah, next time add a service fee. (GRIN) Gas is near 4 bucks a gallon.

Later Y'all.

Excellent choices for a weekend in Manhattan. No traffic, great food, big boats. Especially great for you to thank the servicemen for their service. Too many forget the right meaning of Memorial Day...but not Odat. Excellent!

Hey, I meant to ask how you enjoyed your first holiday weekend that wasn't really a holiday because every day is now a holiday.
