Garden Stuff

I'm getting down and dirty.......in my garden!

It's a great feeling to start ...to take care of things that need to be done, and doing them because you want to and not because you have to. To do them at your leisure instead of fitting it all in on a weekend. And I feel good too, physically, because I've been doing a lot of physical work around and outside the house.....and I'm not resenting doing it either. I bought some geraniums (red, peach and white) to put in the front of the house....I get full sun there and geraniums usually do real well and they're very hardy. I haven't planted them yet because it was still a bit chilly all week here...it's supposed to warm up by the end of the week. So I'll most likely do it Friday. Once I get them in the ground I'll decide what I'll put there next. I also have a big flower bed in the back that I'd like to get started again. I haven't had the time for a garden in a long time so this makes me happy. ;-)

Oh I'm sooo boring, ain't I? I sound retired!!!!!!!!! OHHHHH NOOOOO! hehe. But I have to tell you, I feel soo relaxed and good!!!

Peace

I love working outside in the garden. It's fun to get dirty and to get back to nature in a small way.

Enjoy your gardening. And no, you are never boring, Odat!

There's something therapeutic about working in the dirt. I miss having a house and gardening... but on the same point, it's also what I don't miss... makes sense?

I was really missing my peonies and other flowers last week.

Have fun and take pictures!!!!!

I love the smell of geraniums.

We have been working on veggie beds. We finished one last weekend and hope to get two more in. But we can't plant until May - mid-May actually. sigh. But it is fun to dig around! :)

Did you know that people used to cut the flowers off geraniums? They were bred for their leaves. We have some lovely native ones with the best leaves - patterns - so beautiful.

You could never be boring. I was puttering around a bit outside, mostly feeding birds and squirrels but then I got wicked busy again. Makes me happy to read how happy you are.

I so look forward to getting out the pots and planting our tomato seedlings. Fearful of any freezing temps, will probably wait until May 1...but I cant't wait...

Not boring at all, Odat ! Gardening is wonderful - such a sense of accomplishment, and such a thrill to have a plan, and watch everything blossom, the colors and textures and fragrances and figuring out what works well in the sun and what works well in the shade and... oh my, enjoy !

When all is planted and pretty, you'll have to post pics! ;-)

Gardening is good for the psyche.

Not sure why making things grow feels so good. It must be in our genes.

Now this sounds fun! I like gardening...when I was raking up all the old leaves and checking out what had already started up from the ground...well let's just say that I had a blast! Nothing like smelling dirt for the first time in the spring!

Enjoy dear Odat!
