Three Question Meme

Paul, of Shadow of Diogenes, tagged me with this three question meme:

1)  What prompted me to start a blog?

One word:  Boondoggled!  What's a Boondoggled,  you may ask.  She's my blog idol!
Actually my dear friend Deb had a blog and would speak about it all the time.  When she wasn't around and I'd inquire where she was, she would tell me she was blogging and reading other blogs.  OK. Whatever.  You see, it didn't interest me in the least. She told me I should try it.  It's fun.  I thought, fun?  Writing about something and posting it for the world to see and doing it on a daily basis? Fun?  I thought not.  After all, I have a job, I'm stressed out most of the time, I don't want to add another thing to my plate. (after all it's all about me, isn't it? :-)

I suppose I gave it some thought and after going through a traumatic period in my life at the time (yes, my life has been a series of traumas) I decided to put a finger to the keyboard and start a blog, as an outlet of sorts.   Now, mind you, I'm not a writer or a poet, nor do I have any aspirations to be one or the other.  But I did start typing and silly ideas would come out.  I have posted some serious stuff in between. But mostly silly stuff.  It's the stuff that keeps me going in bad times.  And lo and behold, Odat started mumbling, OneDayAtaTime.   As I say in my sidebar, this blog started as an outlet and has become in inlet to good friends.  I remember getting my first comment (from other than Deb,  I sure did appreciate hers!) and said wow!  I'm really out there!  ;-)  The world knows me now. hehe.  I could become famous!!!! Wow!

That was in December 2005 and here I am, still, hacking away at the silliness.  But, I have to say it's been a blessing in disguise because of the friendships I've found along the way.  I've even met five of you in person!  And the support I've gotten through my tough times has been absolutely divine.

I like blogging.  I try to make time for it every day and visit all my great friends to see what they're up to.

So there you have it.

2) Where do I get my ideas from?

I think most of them stem from flashbacks from the LSD!  Hehe......
Actually that question begs that I have ideas to begin with!  Well, like I said, I'm no writer. I just like silly!  If I see or hear something funny I take note and try to post about it.  I get ideas from animals (Snotdog is one of them) and from conversations I have (even those with myself) that I consider funny or silly.  And, during my tough times, I just say what's in my heart.  I don't have any qualms speaking about my feelings.  I read some of your blogs with envy that I don't write like you or have funny ideas like you, yada yada yada.  But then again, so what?  I do what I do and it's ok with me (there it is again, it's all about me ;-)

3)  What are some of my favorite blogs?

Guess? Can you say funny? Can you say comedy?  I like to laugh.  My sick sense of humor is what keeps me going.  I'm able to make fun of just about everything (which got me in big trouble at work, mind you.)
Actually I like to read just about anything someone writes (the only exception is politics, hate reading about it).    I love reading the stories you guys write and the poetry and the passion and the comedy and the daily diaries and the entertainment and the travel and the sad stories that make me cry and the fantastic photograpy that I view with envy.  Who would have thought that I would even be doing a three question meme when my thoughts about blogging a few years ago were: Pftttfff!

Thank you my sweet friend, Paul for tagging me.   And thank you my dear friend Deb (and Blog Idol), for getting on my ass to start this silly thing!

Peace

O I think my entire life from about 14 forward is a LSD flashback from universal consciousness (lookit all the colors man.)

Like it or not missy, you are a writer eh? What is a writer but one who writes and you write with the flavor of one who knows the rules of putting thought to paper eh? Or is the new day writer a blogger? You write, publish to an audience and, you gets your reward; which is satisfaction.

*Shrug* as long as it works for you, this little thing we do is good.

Peace

It's been an absolute pleasure getting to know you! Glad you are keeping at it during your life of leisure.

When you hear people talk about a long weekend coming up, do you snicker now?

You are a gem! A cosmic gem sending out silly vibes with great healing powers. Yet I think we are also getting to know you through your blog more than you might think. And at the core of it, you are the light that keeps us coming.

The world will never be the same. Now if we can only get Biker to join in the fun we'd be dangerous.
