Wordzzle

Raven, from "Views from Raven's Nest" has offered up a challenge that she calls "wordzzles".  She give us between 8 and 10 words/phrases and we are asked to create a small but coherent paragraph using each and every word.

The challenge words this week are perpendicular, carpentry, garage, lute player, radishes, tin roof, wild flowers, stop light, gargantuan.  And here's my "small, but not necessarily coherent paragraph:

The five wooden planks were lying perpendicular to the door on the ground by the old garage, whose carpentry, by the way, bedazzled everyone who visited there.   It stood in an old cemetery where legends of ghosts walking in the night abounded. The volunteer lute players strummed out their melodies, while standing in the bed of radishes, adding a splash of color to their music.  A new tin roof would replace the wooden planks blown off in the storm and would be paid for by those attending the fund raiser.  Thousands came, which explained the gargantuan stop sign they erected to prevent them from stomping through the path of wildflowers by the side of the road.

Peace

* shudders * Radishes scare me. You did well with the words. I probably would have seen gargantuan and made it in to an erotic short story. ;) I'm just a dirty girl, what can I say??!

Betty, thanks for the visit.

Raven, I did have fun! Sometimes if I see words a story comes instantly to mind...but at other times I don't see or can't write worth a damn. I'll try a few more times...I may get to like it a lot more. thank you.

Pattie, Thanks....I know you have a lot on your plate already.....but you do a good job doing all that!!! ;-)

Richard, Thank you so much....

Claudia, why do radishes scare you?????
(I thought the same thing about that word, hehe...but just couldn't! ) Yeah I really could..but didn't.

I am not a wordsmith, so I got hijacked by Einstein in the new widget. It's still great coming here. Thank you.

Nicely done. I keep saying I want to get in on this Wordzzle action. But honestly, I do something sorta similar for a living. And by the time I get home from work my brain's usually fried. Regardless, this was nicely written.

You know, Odat, I have a theory the smaller the Wordzzle the more clever it is! :D
