Happy Monkey Monday!

Happy Monkey Monday!

I saw this picture and it transported me back to days long ago and far away. My brother had a sock monkey! His name was Jocko. Altho my brother was older than I, he sucked his thumb and had to go to bed with his 'sock monkey everynight, long past the age when I had given up all that stuff (hehe). (Actually. come to think of it, I was never a thumb sucker and don't recall having to go to bed with a stuffed animal. Oh no, did I have a deprived childhood? Should I bring this up in therepy? Oh, but I digress.) I made fun of him and his lil monkey. He'd get mad. I remember the monkey having a hard head! Someone must have placed a rubber or hard plastic face on this sock! ( I mean really, what decent sock monkey maker does that???). Well anyway the one other memory I have about all this is that my sweet, dear, older protective brother...used to hit me on the head with it every time I made fun of him! Damn.....ya think that's why I am the way I am today????? I have sock monkey brains!

Peace

Five things I'm grateful for today:
1). My brother (RIP)
2) Sock Monkeys
3) just plain ole socks for that matter
4) the ability to heal (my ankle, remember?)
5) Soothing music

I guess there are worse things in life than being clocked about the head a few times with a sock monkey.

I loved my sock monkey. When I was a kid we had a monkey that clanged a cymbal and ooh-oohed. It entertained all the time. thanks for bringing that memory back.

From my view it looks like Jocko is giving the frog the high hard one. Disgusting!! Cheers...

I had a stuffed frog as my "teddy bear" - I collected frogs of all kinds. And who doesn't like sock monkeys. So I just loved this Monkey Monday picture.

Dude the sock monkey rocks!!! Don't be hard on the sock monkey.

I mush has 10 stuffed monkeys. One of them, Tom the Monkey has been to places not many people will ever get to see.

I love monkeys. Check on Tom (I stole from you) on my blog!

Heh heh...the image of you being knocked upside the head with a sock monkey just made me giggle! I'm in the office giggling that a man I don't even know got hit in the head with a sock monkey when he was a kid. *LOL* Thanks, Odat for that laugh. ;)

Sock monkeys figure heavily into your early development. Yes, I would suggest this be discussed in therapy as soon as possible, before it's too late.

Very sweet! My daughter has a sock monkey, although I don't think she's named it. She also has flannel pajamas and satin pajamas with sock monkeys on them!
