How Was I Supposed to Know

Danielle tagged me to do a "How Was I Supposed to Know" theme meme.

I stole my brother's car keys off the table to go visit Mom who was in the hospital. Brother was sleeping off a hangover. I was 16. I never had a driving lesson in my life, but I did have a permit. So of course I could drive. I mean how hard could it be? I'd seen it done hundreds of times!

Off I went, driving along the straight boulevard, feeling so mature, listening to the radio.

HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW that I had to straighten out the steering wheel after I made a turn????????????????
Crash!

(I'll tell the rest of the story some day!)

Peace

Five things I'm grateful for today:
1) Coffeeeeeeeeeeee
2) Ice water on a hot day
3) Body butter
4) Full tank of gas (but now I can't eat!) ;-(
5) Quarter moons

Don't forget to keep up with the story over at The Writer's Experiment

bloody hell, is THAT what I've been doing wrong all this time?

Turn the wheel back! Brilliant! *runs off to take notes*

I did the same thing, only on a John
Deere Tractor, it wasn't to hard to learn the the wheel had to be turned.

oh Odat.
This is forgivable since you were only 16. I'm the sorry sap at 31 with a permit about to expire and no experience other than practicing thrice in a parking lot.

As always, sweets.

Be well and enjoy the day.

Oh, I forgot to tell you, I was seven years old...

Sarge, on a tractor? at seven? ;-d

danielle, lol, sorry. Get with the program girl!!!

annie, yup, was injured...and like i just told michael, it wasn't pretty!
Thanks about the experiment. You're certainly going to have your job cut out for you once it's your turn....I hope you're keeping track of all the twists and turns it's taking!

Live and learn! I hope that was the worst mistake you ever made.

I mean, at first I didn't realize you had to keep apply the break after a turn if you were trying to decelerate.... but that's pretty stupid, ODAT.

I mean, didn't you ever play with tricycles, bicycles, little cars, wagons, basically anything employing the millenia-old concept of the wheel?

Your supose to straiten out the wheel after the turn ..damm thats why I keep wrecking :D

Crap! Is that what I keep screwing up??
