Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!

It Started Out Nice....

It was a beautiful day. After all, it was Monkey Monday. The weekend weather was beautiful. I went to work in a great frame of mind. Who could ask for anything more? (Well I could, but why push my luck.) I bought my weekly bouquet of flowers on my walk from the train to the office. Folks were out walking their "city" dogs, picking up their poop. Doormen were washing down the sidewalks. Restaurants were getting their daily deliveries of fresh fish and vegetables.

I love this time in the morning.
I arrived at the office before anyone else. Got my coffee. Ate breakfast at my desk. Read the paper (ya don't think I was going to start working right away do you?). Off to a nice and easy start.

Colleagues start to arrive. I finish up my coffee. I get my vase to fill with water for my flowers and walk to the kitchen area. Note that I have changed shoes from my "walking shoes" to my "office shoes". Walking down the carpeted hallway, I cross the threshold onto the "shiny" clean tiled floor of the kitchen.

My shoe slips on the floor. The vase goes flying into the air. I go crashing to the floor, awaiting the vase to come with me. I cover myself right before the crash of the vase.......glass shatters all around me! I sit on the floor in front of the refrigerator, holding onto my ankle that I twisted! (for the fourth time this year!). Everyone runs out of their offices wondering what the noise was. (Mind you, people are very wary of loud noises here in NYC). They see me sitting on the floor with glass all around yelling "Fuck, fuck, fuck" and not in a good way!

They wrapped my ankle up and hauled me off to my Medical Dept. in a wheelchair!

(It's not broken, just a bad sprain).

Ah, the price of fashion.
Damn!
Peace

"Pretty" high heeled shoes not too conducive to peace, sweets ;}. I do hope you feel better by keeping your weight off the wounded foot, and wearing glamorous sensible shoes.

Sometimes I feel so out of the hip world being 31 and wearing heels maybe once a year, until I look at my piggies and like what I see.

Careful and swift recovery, sweets.

Oh Dear, this is why I am not a considerate co-worker. It would never occur to me to bring a vase and flowers. I hope your ankle feels better right quick.

I hope you better quickly. I hate the idea of you being laid up at all.

Hope you´ll be doing fine again soon.

Lizza sent me via Blogworld Saturday. Of course I was curious: What in the world could tempt peaceful Odat to make use of the F-word. Definitely a very good reason! ;)

Have a great weekend!
