Gratitude

It's almost Thanksgiving Day and because I've gotten all caught up with what's going on "out there" I've almost forgotten about what is going on here "in my heart". Remember how I used to do a "Five things I'm Grateful For" list everyday? In honor of Thanksgiving I'm going to begin that again. I need to. It helps. I've got so many things to be grateful for and I don't want to forget that.

Albert Schweitzer:
At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.

Buddha:
Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.

Marcel Proust:
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

My gratitude list:
1) Friends and family who have stuck by me thru good times and bad.
2) The comforts of home...having a roof over my head and a good meal to eat.
3) The ability to get up in the morning, putting my two feet on the floor and greeting the day!
4) Sunrises and sunsets.
5) My lil Snot dog :-)

Peace

Nice list! Mine is somewhat similar.
1. I'm alive.
2. I have people that I care about, and people who care about me.
3. Even when I had very little, I have always had enough.
4. I still can learn.
5. I still can laugh.

It is so refreshing to see this post, read through the quotes and know how grateful you are for the good things. Thank you for making me smile this morning.

My wife and I used to do the gratitude list, too. Thank you for reminding me of it.

And, incidentally, for doing so at the perfect time of year!
