A Commute From Hell

I was looking forward to another fine day at work on Wednesday. The forecast was for rain.

I woke up to thunder, lightening and rain of biblical proportion. I listened as the weather forecaster called for a tornado warning until 7AM. Tried to walk the Snot dog, operative word - TRIED! Well he can just hold in it then!!! Geeze.

My drive to the parking lot where I take my train usually takes 20 minutes. Yesterday it took three hours! There were flash floods all over the place. Cars were stuck in standing water...I got stuck on an off ramp and had to sit and wait for about an hour and and half until the water receeded. I had no choice. There were five cars already stuck there!
When I finally got to the parking lot, I learned that all trains to NYC were cancelled. Mind you it's 90 degrees out with about 95 percent humidity. Every one was soaked from the rain and then the heat. Odorific!!!! And their usually pleasant commuting personalities turned a wee bit more nasty, leaning more towards homicidal rage!

To top it all off, that tornado really did touch down, in Brooklyn! The first one EVER there. This is not Kansas people..this is New York City!!!!

I gave up going into the city and took a shuttle to one our company's other offices and worked there all day............I should have stayed home! I mean after traveling for such a long time I at least expected to be at a nice vacation spot...right?
So how was your day???????

See how evil you really are!!!

How evil are you?

Peace

We heard all the tornado warning stuff early yesterday morning on the radio when we woke up. scary stuff.

Sounds like a nightmare. Today will be better. ;-)

Now to see just how evil "Patti the Good" really is under all this niceness.

I am Good! Great to know! Thanx for the quiz.

Heard about this when the clock radio (880-AM) said there was such a warning. Wow. Watched the Fox5 news at 5:00, and what a mess in Greenpoint. Ripped the roof off a Nissan dealer, trees split, etc. And nobody, it seems could get a cab since the subways did not work. I suppose the quiet boredom of the ‘burbs beats the excitement of the city on Wednesday, anyhow…

How was my day, it was the day after I drank some awful stuff which gave me the ability to shoot a stream through a key hole, ate enough jello to make me gag, drank about two gallons of water, all that just so someone could stick a camera up my ass this morning, have a nice day.

now that I am done with that I have posted a thursday warmup.......

Hey, I noticed you're a comedy fan--and a neighbor no less. (I'm in NYC, too!) Anyway, your blog is very colorful, along with your Avatar! That's what caught my eye. So I decided to stop by.

Feel free to visit me and leave your mark. You might even have an opinion, who knows? And don't worry, I won't hold the "twisted" evil against you.

Nice coming across your blog!

My day, unfortunately or fortunately, was uneventful. I awoke at the appointed time. I drove to work and arrived in timely manner. My commute home was same as it always is. I had hotdogs and mac&cheese for dinner. I attempted art then went to bed.

This is the first I've heard of a tornado in NYC. I need to read the news more. Glad you're okay!

Weather is getting all messed up: should we blame la nina, global warming, or pole reversal? I prefer to blame George W. Bush.

Btw, nice blog!

I always knew when I was in Brooklyn that I wasn't in Kansas anymore. Ebbett's Field was a dead give-away. I should also warn you that I am irretrievably evil. We're talkin' bad to the bone here. I am so glad to have found out. Thank you!

I will never, ever complain about my commute again. Good grief! You deserve hazardous duty pay.

Your test said that I am good. Bah. The sensor is obviously broken.

I had fun taking George to day care, and my wife had fun swimming to work.

Oh, and I'm neutral. WTF?!?
