Heartinsanfrancisco (link to the right--->) was err, kind enough to tag me to take the "meme" challenge and publicize to the whole wide world ten (10) secrets about myself.....(ok one of them is that I exaggerate.....but so what).
The term "meme" (IPA: [miːm], not "mem"), coined in 1976 by Richard Dawkins, refers to a unit of cultural information that can be transmitted from one mind to another.
So here goes:
1. I've always thought this: "My life is an open book" and I'll tell you anything you want to know about me. When I saw that Heart had tagged me for this "challenge", I realized there are things I really don't want you to know about me.
2. I usually don't admit my age anymore. I had, in the past, considered that age didn't much matter, but I'm at that age where it does! (to me).
3. I don't visit Mom as often as I tell people I do. (Mom's in a Nursing Home. She's been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.)
4. When my brother died last year, I didn't feel anything. My heart went out to his children tho. I'm working on forgiving myself and him for all the wrongs that were done over the course of our lives.
5. One of my favorites sayings is "It's never too late". But sometimes it is.
6. When I was small, I, like Heart, had and incident with my Mom's dresses and scissors! I got a pair of "Snippy" scissors for my birthday and went all around the house "snipping" everything these "safe" scissors could cut. My Mom had a black sheer cocktail dress hanging above the bedroom door that she intended to wear that evening and as I was walking by I "snipped" the bottom of the dress (oops, I really was surprised that the scissors actually cut it!). She was so upset, she cried and couldn't figure out what happened. I never told her.
I also threw all her "toilet water" down the toilet, at the urging of my brother. Well? Isn't that what it was for???
7. I actually have a fear of all new situations and meeting new people (something I must do every day at my job), although you'd never know it if you met me. I have a mantra that I learned during my hippie days that helps me every time, and its this: "Oh what the fuck, go for it anyway".
.
8. I have a tatoo! I just got it last month. It's not a secret here, since I did a post about it, but I have kept it secret from some family members and from the job.
9. I really want a job where all I have to do is say: "You want fries with that"???
9 1/2. I'm a closet carboholic.
10. I don't live with my husband anymore.. I left him. Although my close friends and family know, I have not divulged this at work (for a variety of reasons), which makes for difficult conversation at times.
So there ya go.........and......guess who I'm tagging?????
JUST D, of Boondoggled fame, and Laugh More, Love More, of My Heart Hearts fame.....;-)

Oh thanks! lol* more secrets to splurge!
I'm sorry about your Mom. I am sure it's tough as are losing a brother and dealing with it.
As for you husband, I am sure you had your reasons and I am glad you were brave enough for yourself to follow through! We do have a lot in common.
Thanks again for the MEME... Oh my! I'll do it tonight because I know if I don't I will loose my nerve!
~M
PS. Thanks I won't let B know you told me what you told me! *lol
Wow, you are a lot braver (is that a word) than I ever will be. I could not have shared secrets like that in blog land. Good for you and thank you for sharing!
Gee Thanks.
lol
I bet, if you applied yourself you could totally get a job where you ask people if they want fries with that.
M,
Thanks
michael, thanks too....
D,
You're so very welcome :-)
mist,
Will the tuition be expensive??
Odat, I can't believe I missed this post. While actively looking for it. Well, there's another bonus secret about me: I'm a blind idiot.
My husband, who is quite young (and considerably younger than I) has been diagnosed with Early-Onset Alzheimer's. So far only his short-term memory is affected, but I have no idea wherre this will lead as I've never known anyone who had it.
My brother and I have an uneasy relationship going way back, and I left my first two husbands and raised my three chlldren myself. You and I have a lot in common, but I'm sorry you have to deal with this, too.
One difference, though. I usually tell people my age because I'd rather they thought I looked great for my years than have them wonder why I look so beat up for such a young woman. :)
